This weekend, I had the pleasure to be a part of an amazing event. Despite the heat, flocks of people came out to the soccer field at Faith Christian High School for a free concert. I got their quite early, but it allowed me to get pictures of everything, before the crowd arrived.
There were so many great vendors! The smell of BBQ wafted in the air, and if you wanted to escape the heat, there were cold smoothies and ice cream.
Then the gates were opened and people poured in!
For the young ones, there were plenty of fun things to do...
I absolutely loved watching all the kids and seeing such joy on their faces!
After the national anthem, the first band up was Faith Arising.
Next up was The Resistance.
I loved the intensity of this band; it made for some fun music and awesome photos!
Then we got to worship with the Hope Point Band, from my home church!
Then we had the band Lifted.
One of my favorite things that happened that night wasn't technically related to all these bands. Matthew Lynch presented some spoken word, and it was truly moving.
One thing I love about this event is that it gives local bands the opportunity to play for their community, and these small bands are how this whole thing started! But this year we had a bigger name come to town: Lincoln Brewster.
Lincoln's drummer was crazy talented!
It was just beautiful to see how God was using all these musicians and volunteers to move people's hearts.
While it is so easy to get caught up in the lights and the music, the purpose of this event was to let people in our community have an encounter with Christ. Being a photographer, it is pretty easy to get caught up in the moment of catching the good shots, but it was just so marvelous to just stop and look around.
I'd say this event was successful, because I got to witness so many people coming to Jesus!
Thank you to LaDonna Curteman for starting this event, for all the volunteers who made this possible, and for God meeting us all there! ♥︎
